Description
Pillars of Creation
The iconic image that captivated the imagination of many. Here, the color palette was inspired by the Hubble image with the deep reds and blues and the star spikes.
Data was originally captured with an oddball setup, the Celestron C14 (non Edge version) with the Optec 0.5x reducer and the very small pixels of the 183 camera. 3nm filters very initially used for an HOO image and I added the Sii from a CDK24 data of Telescope live.
Revision A: Is the H-alpha data with of the C14 from our backyard. With those small 2.4 micron pixels, the native image scale is very high at 0.24 arcseconds / pixel.
There was no space for an OAG, not being able to guide properly subs were limited to 45s only, there is still some evidence of sub optimal tracking.
The image is displayed at a high resoltuion of 0.5 arcseconds/pixel.
