Low Profile Combination Focuser & Rotator

Optec’s new Hercules rotating focuser combines camera field rotation with telescope focus. Slightly smaller than its big brother, the robust Gemini focusing rotator, Hercules provides a full 3-inch clear aperture and 0.35” (about 9mm) of travel while maintaining a thickness less than 2-inches.

Optec’s Best-in-Class ASCOM and Alpaca drivers are capable of alt-az de-rotation, image orientation and composition in addition to the traditional guide-star acquisition capability.

Takahashi Epsilon Kits:

Epsilon 130 & E160 Kit: Require replacement of the native saddle with a new saddle assembly supplied as part of the kit.

Epsilon 180 Kit: The Epsilon 180 package uses the native saddle plate and a special low profile drawtube which allows the Takahashi field flattener to be positioned in the same location relative to the primary and secondary mirrors as the original design.
